Wishing all who read this a prosperous year filled with progress!
My love of horses and my love of LEGO have collided this new year as I had to build the little "Year of the Horse" set. Then I discovered that 2026 is not only another YOTH, but that it is the rare and dynamic Year of the Fire Horse, starting February 17, 2026. While I can't say that I'm an avid follower of the Chinese Zodiac calendar, the Year of the Fire Horse symbolizes intense passion, rapid progress, freedom, and transformation. Requiring bold action balanced with mindfulness to avoid impulsiveness, this symbolism make it ideal for chasing goals, new adventures, and authenticity. This fiery, energetic year only occurs once every 60 years, bringing significant opportunities for breakthrough and personal growth.
I just read a post by a friend of mine (I won't mention names since you might actually know of him), sharing his thoughts about new year's resolutions - as he prefers to set "rules." He says resolutions are always emotional and typically gone quickly as a result. My favorite from his rules list is:
Don't confuse movement with progress. Busy is not the goal, moving forward is.
We all have busy lives, but progress should always be our goal - professionally, personally, physically, spiritually, emotionally.
So let's create some fiery passion and energy this year around our goal of progress, however that shows up in our lives personally.
